How is it used?

couple指“兩件東西或兩個人”，也指“為數不多的人或物”，數量不一定是剛好兩件或兩個。

• Jane went to the park with a couple of her friends.

簡和她幾個朋友去了公園。

• You made a couple of spelling mistakes, but on the whole it is a very good essay.

你拼錯了幾個英文字，但整體來說這篇文章寫得很好。

• Wait a couple of minutes, then try again.

等幾分鐘再試試。

• Alan took a couple of cookies from the jar.

a couple也可單獨使用，無須後接of。
